Benefit Cut Specifics

Funding for the assistance officially expired on the weekend due to the budget standoff, now in its thirty-fourth day with no clear signal of resolution.
Judicial Proceedings
The decision came in a judicial submission after earlier denials to issue critical funding on alleged legal grounds. A federal judge had decided the administration could not withhold program funds as a result of the shutdown.
